About Us

New Life Community Center is the outreach arm and program base of New Life Community Ministries, Inc., a faith-based, non-profit, 501c-3 community development corporation.  The mission of New Life Community Center is to empower, uplift, and impact the community in every walk of life by providing community enrichment and outreach programs, youth and adult education initiatives, and community activities for residents who live in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

New Life Community Center is governed by a Board of Directors and receives advice and input on programs and operations from a volunteer Advisory Council made up of business and community leaders.

Our Services

Our services include an effective eligibility and case managed process honoring the dignity of those who receive as well as those who donate.
  • GED Program

    Tuesday – Thursday 6:30pm – 9:30pm

    Classes are available to assist clients seeking to finish their high school education by obtaining a GED

  • Food Pantry

    Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 12pm
    Saturday – 10am – 12pm

    Clients can receive a box of healthy food for themselves and their family.


    • Valid ID and proof of residency.
    • Document need/circumstance.
    • Eligible for one box per month.
    • Agree to Life skills/financial counseling after receipt of third box.
  • Project Change for Life

    Provides free meals to DeKalb County and Atlanta Metro Homeless.

    • Saturday – Hot breakfast and bag lunch served – Open 9:00am.
    • Sunday – Continental breakfast and hot lunch served – Open 9:00am.
    • Transportation provided for Metro-Atlanta Homeless.
  • Clothes Closet

    Saturday (only)
    9:30am – 11:30am

    Clients are free to shop for needed clothing for themselves and their family.

  • Homeless Prevention - Rent and Utility Assistance

    Funds available for rent and utility assistance.


    • Valid ID and proof of residency
    • Prefer before past due fee is assessed
    • Provide actual late notice/eviction notice
    • Agree to complete budget and plan to prevent reoccurrence
  • His Love Extended (HLE)

    9am – 2pm

    Provides free services to Dekalb County’s homeless population, such as hair cuts, showers, meals, counseling, and enrichment classes.

Assistance with preparation of resumes for submission to potential employers.


Identification and assist with underlying issues which prevent a better quality of life.

Directions from I-75/85 (Downtown Atlanta)

Take I-75/85 South to I-20 East.  Take the Candler Road/Decatur Exit #65.  Turn right onto Candler Rd / Hwy155 South.  Travel approximately 1 mile (crossing Rainbow Drive and Flat Shoals Road).  The facility is located on the left hand side.

Directions from I-285

Take I-285 East to Flat Shoals Pkwy/Candler Rd. (Exit #48). Turn left onto Flat Shoals. Go through one light (Fairlake Drive/ Panthersville Road). The facility will be on the right hand side past Taco Bell.

Directions from I-20 West (Conyers/Covington)

Take I-20 West to I-285 South. Exit at the Flat Shoals Pkwy/Candler Rd. (Exit #48). Turn right onto Flat Shoals. Go through one light (Fairlake Drive/ Panthersville Road). The facility will be on the right hand side.

Directions for Marta

Ride the “Blue Rail Marta Line” from the Five Points Marta Station to the Decatur Marta Station. Board the No. 15 County Line Bus or the No. 15 Candler Road/GA Perimeter Bus. Exit either bus at the corner of Panthersville and Flat Shoals Parkway directly in front of the New Life Church Campus.
